May in Indiana is all about the Indianapolis 500 motor race. People travel here from all over to witness the spectacle. There is a great deal of planning and work which goes into making this a successful weekend.
We are all running this race called life. There are times when we all struggle with the things life throws at us. Family trouble, financial setbacks, health concerns, overwork, stress and a variety of issues can rob us of our peace. My daughter calls it being on the struggle bus. Do you sometimes just want to stop the bus and get off? I know I do at times.
Hebrews 12:1 tells us, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that easily entangles, and let us run the race with perseverance, the race marked out for us.”
And one of my favorite verses from Isaiah 40:31, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Maybe you are struggling today, feeling overwhelmed and defeated. Maybe, you are questioning whether your life matters. Whatever you are feeling or dealing with, remember you are not in this race alone. You have a powerful and mighty protector in God. He wants you to rest under the shelter of His wings. He loves you, just as you are. Run to Him.
